Agrana and Pinzgau Milch / cheeses and sauces

Cubes of cheese are always a perfect choice for a small, hearty snack at home, in the office, or on the go. But cheese tastes even better with sauce, which is why Agrana and dairy company Pinzgau Milch teamed up to launch a joint project on the market
that combines cheese cubes with both savory and fruity sauces and chutneys.

The two components are packaged in a packaging concept from Greiner Packaging: While the cheese cubes from Pinzgau Milch are in a cardboard-plastic cup, the sauce is packaged in the cup’s lid, in what is known as a top cup. The cutlery for consuming the cheese, a fork, is also included in the packaging. A special feature of the packaging product is that it is practically sterile. Once the cutlery has been inserted into the top cup and sealed inside, the lids are stacked in a box for transportation to the filling company where they’re sterilized with a small dose of radiation. And sterilization is also carried out in the filling system itself by means of UV radiation.

Using virtually sterile packaging for the product also increases the shelf life of the food, thereby preventing food waste.
