Plant-based products are both healthy and good for the environment, which also explains their growth in popularity. For some time now, vegan products have not only been consumed by those leading a totally vegan lifestyle. Today, plant-based foods are widely enjoyed. This development has also been recognized by a group of industrial investors, who have made it their mission to put the plant-based food industry onto a commercial footing. The first step on this journey involved setting up a state-of-the-art plant in Anklam, northern Germany, trading as PlantA. Tasty alternatives to fermented dairy products are made and bottled for a variety of customers at this facility. Bringing vegan yogurts and drinks to consumers requires a packaging solution that meets the same quality and sustainability standards as the products themselves: cardboard-plastic combinations.

Thanks to the new tear-off system, separating the components of this packaging is particularly easy. After doing so, consumers are left holding just two pieces: the plastic container and the cardboard wrap. They can easily dispose of these components separately and properly, playing an important part in the recycling effort. Greiner Packaging supplies PlantA with 150 g, 400 g, and 230 ml cups, which are filled with vegan yogurts and drinks based on oats or coconut.

“With our activities at the PlantA facility in Anklam, we are underlining our belief in the potential of the vegan market. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of their purchasing choices. In offering vegan products, we are giving them the opportunity to do something to benefit their health and our environment at the same time.
