Greiner Packaging Austria has been a klimaaktiv partner since 2013. klimaaktiv is the climate protection initiative of the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism (BMNT). With our accession to the pact, we have committed ourselves - together with eleven other partners - to ambitious climate goals to be reached by 2020:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 16 percent
  • Increase energy efficiency by at least 20 percent
  • Use at least 34 percent renewable energy sources (10 percent in transport and mobility)

The fact that this commitment pays off is proven by the achievement of all klimaaktiv  goals, which were accomplished in 2019 - one year before the set deadline. Minister of Sustainability, Maria Patek, congratulates the pact partners on this achievement for climate protection: „Our klimaaktiv partners show as pioneers that energy efficiency, business success and climate protection can be combined. With determination and dedication, they have already saved more than 1.39 million tons of CO2 since 2005 - equivalent to the emissions of around 200,000 flights around the world. " Future climate goals are already being worked on.
