Beatrix Praeceptor, CEO of Greiner Packaging, was elected to the Executive Board of the Austrian association Platform Packaging with a Future in early January 2026. With this appointment, she assumes a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the Austrian dialogue platform, which has been committed since its founding to advancing sustainable and circular packaging solutions across the entire value chain.
A platform that connects an entire industry
The Platform Packaging with a Future was established in 2020 to objectify the discussion about packaging and to promote a functioning circular economy. It aims to bring together companies from every stage of the value chain, from raw material processors and packaging manufacturers to consumer goods companies and recycling businesses. This work is guided by four core principles:
Replace
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle
Based on this shared understanding, the platform dedicates itself to navigating the field of tension between resource conservation, waste prevention, and environmental compatibility. It promotes fact-based dialogue, bundles expertise, and develops practical solutions that prove effective throughout the entire lifecycle of a packaging product.
Strategic leadership of the platform
The Executive Board serves as the steering body of the platform and holds overall responsibility for its strategic, organizational, and financial management. This includes further developing thematic priorities, planning key activities, and ensuring transparent communication with members. The term of office is one year but may be extended through re-election.
Alongside Beatrix Praeceptor, the three-member Executive Board includes Günther Lehner (Chairman of ALPLA) and Angelika Huemer (Managing Partner at Starlinger), forming a highly capable leadership team. With her election, Beatrix Praeceptor brings additional perspectives from the packaging industry and the circular economy into the board and will actively support the platform’s continued development.
“I firmly believe that we can only meet the challenges of the packaging sector together. As a board member, I want to inspire bold, scientifically grounded steps that make a truly circular packaging economy possible. What matters is that we consider the entire lifecycle of a package and develop solutions that are environmentally sound while remaining practical for businesses and consumers alike. When all relevant stakeholders come together, we create the momentum that makes real change achievable.”

Greiner Packaging as a driving force
Greiner Packaging has been an active member for many years, continuously supporting the platform’s work through expert exchange and substantive contributions. The focus lies primarily on sustainable and circular packaging solutions. By participating in dialogue formats, working groups, and strategic discussions, Greiner Packaging helps shape key industry topics and promote fact-based guidance for business, policymakers, and the public.
“I am not only pleased but truly delighted that Beatrix Praeceptor will join the Executive Board of the Platform Packaging with a Future starting in 2026. With her extensive experience and strong focus on innovation in the circular economy, she brings valuable strategic perspectives. As CEO of Greiner Packaging, she will strengthen the board with her expertise and provide important impetus for the development of our network - and, by extension, for the Austrian packaging industry.”

Looking ahead
For 2026, the platform plans to deepen its work across several key areas. One priority will be raising awareness and providing education, both within the industry and among the public and policymakers, to enable a solid understanding of the complexity surrounding sustainable packaging.
At the same time, political dialogue remains central to shaping realistic framework conditions for future-proof packaging systems. The platform will also continue to foster collaboration among members, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote a circular-economy mindset. In her new role, Beatrix Praeceptor will support the Executive Board in actively shaping these initiatives and driving their strategic implementation.
Together, these efforts aim to develop solutions that are practical, innovation-driven, and effective in a sustainable way, making the path toward a circular packaging economy increasingly tangible.
