Orontes, a fast-growing producer of Mediterranean-style yogurt, has relied on Greiner Packaging’s direct printed cups since the start of its commercial production in 2023 to support its journey from small-scale production to regional expansion.

Based in Winfield, Pennsylvania, Orontes traces its roots back to 1995, when founder Murat Hokka immigrated from Turkey and began sharing homemade yogurt while working as a chef. In 2019, the company took an important step forward with the purchase of Penn Cheese, later rebranded as Penn Dairy, a yogurt co-packing facility in Central Pennsylvania. After several years of recipe development and co-packing for national brands, Orontes entered full commercial production in March 2023. This milestone marked the transition from a passion-driven project to a scalable, growth-oriented dairy business, ready to compete in retail environments.

Finding a Packaging Partner That Enables Growth

Like many emerging dairy brands, Orontes faced a familiar challenge: finding a packaging partner capable of supporting growth while still accommodating smaller production runs.

“Greiner’s flexibility and willingness to work with us made it easy to scale thoughtfully without compromising on quality. It’s a partnership that sets us up for long-term success.”

Shayne Reed, Brand Manager of Orontes

Greiner Packaging’s ability to adapt to Orontes’ evolving volumes and requirements created a stable foundation for growth. Today, just three years into the partnership, Orontes products are available in more than 250 stores across the Northeastern United States. For Orontes, this demonstrates how early packaging decisions can directly influence speed-to-market, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability.

Direct Printed Cups Designed for Performance and Brand Impact

To bring their yogurt to market, Orontes needed packaging that matched the quality of its product: durable and visually appealing. Sustainability was also a key consideration, as the company sources milk from grass-fed farms located just eight miles from their production facility.

Greiner Packaging’s direct-printed cups and lids offer an ideal packaging solution designed around your needs. Made entirely from polypropylene (PP), the mono-material concept makes recycling easier and supports your sustainability goals. At the same time, direct printing delivers a clean look that brings your brand to life while simplifying your operations by eliminating extra labeling steps — helping you save time and increase efficiency. This efficiency is especially valuable for a growing brand. As Orontes explains, the result is “packaging that looks great, performs well, and supports our growth.”

“We value the quality, consistency, and shelf appeal of the Greiner cups. They have become a recognizable part of our brand. As a growing company, we’re always open to innovation and new ideas, and we appreciate Greiner’s ongoing collaboration as our needs evolve.”

Murat Hokka, CEO and Founder of Orontes Yogurt

A Partnership Built on Collaboration and Reliability

Beyond supplying cups and lids, Greiner Packaging has become a trusted partner in Orontes’ growth. Greiner’s support goes far beyond the product itself, bringing insight, flexibility, and hands-on guidance that help Orontes scale with confidence. As Orontes puts it, “We see it as a true partnership, built on trust, shared goals, and a commitment to doing things the right way.” With reliable, visually appealing packaging that reflects their values, Orontes can stay focused on what they do best: crafting high-quality, flavorful yogurt.

Growth and retail expansion

With strong regional momentum in the Northeastern United States, Orontes continues to expand into larger retail environments. Its Mediterranean-style, lactose-free A2A2 yogurt appeals to consumers seeking both authenticity and approachability.

Looking ahead, Orontes plans to continue building its retail footprint while exploring new flavors, formats, and innovations. With Greiner Packaging’s support, the brand is well-positioned for its next phase of growth, bringing high-quality yogurt to more consumers and showing up strong on shelves.
