Thermoforming
As a highly economical and efficient method, thermoforming produces millions of plastic parts. An affordable alternative to injection molding, thermoforming is particularly suited for companies trying to make a fast market entry and showing consistent quality in their packaging.
Economical technology for large series:
During thermoforming, extruded sheets are fed into a thermoforming machine, where they are heated. The thermoelastic sheet is then stretched forwards in the tool and molded by compressed air, cooled down and punched into its desired shape. As one of our advanced plastic packaging technologies, this sheet extrusion process offers companies significant advantages:
- Fast production for large series
- Lower tooling costs compared to injection molding
- Suited for lightweight, rigid, and semi-rigid packaging
- Seamless integration of recycled content through inline processes
Materials used: thermoelastic sheets made of PS, PP, r-PP, PET, r-PET
Products: yogurt cups, butter tubs, lids for containers, trays, and much more.
