Baby bottles

Safety and hygiene standards can never be too high when it comes to products that are used by babies and young children in particular. This is why our food packaging as well as our baby bottles and drink bottles have been BPA-free for a number of years now.

We already have many years of experience with the production of baby bottles. Therefore we know international quality standards very well. As a total solution provider, we manufacture both, bottles and closures.

Bisphenol A, or BPA for short, is a chemical compound that is used in the production of the plastic polycarbonate. The effects of BPA mimic the female hormone estrogen – and the questions of whether BPA presents a risk to human health and the minimum amount that can present a hazard are hotly disputed by various authorities and scientists. However, studies have shown that human and animal hormone systems can be influenced by BPA. That is why we completely avoid the use of bisphenol A in our products.

A pioneering role

At Greiner Packaging, we already began producing our baby bottles without BPA two years before the EU banned the use of polycarbonate in these sensitive products in 2011. Eastman’s Tritan™ copolyester is currently Greiner Packaging’s preferred BPA-free raw material. This plastic has been approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) and is listed by the EFSA (European Food and Safety Association). Tritan™ copolyester is shatterproof, crystal clear, heat-resistant, dishwasher-safe, and extremely durable. Plus, it offers high design flexibility – making baby bottles not just safe but visually appealing as well.
