Grand Opening at Greiner Packaging in Pittston, PA
On October 29, 2014, at exactly 4.23 pm local time, Andreas Frank, Willi Eibner and Michael Reiser cut the symbolic red ribbon and officially opened the first US site of Greiner Packaging before a crowd of invited guests. The Austrian packaging manufacturer primarily aims to highlight its strength in the dairy and food industry as it enters the US market.
Kremsmünster / Pittston, 30. October 2014. – On October 29, 2014, more than 130 invited guests were at the premises of Greiner Packaging at 225 Enterprise Way, Pittston, PA 18640, USA. Among them were representatives of the State of Pennsylvania, members of Governor’s Corbett Cabinet and the Governor’s Action Team, prominent politicians, and members of the administration, customers, consultants, and suppliers.
Factory inspection, good music, and delicacies
All the guests received first-hand information in the form of a tour of the plant and discussions with Greiner Packaging management. Music for the occasion was provided by the renowned Hayes Kavanagh’s New York City Jazz Band and DJ Marquis. Traditional Austrian cuisine was the culinary offer of the evening. Willi Eibner, CEO of Greiner Packaging International, explained with a chuckle: “We have captured the hearts of our guests with Austrian delicacies such as schnitzel, Sachertorte, or Kaiserschmarrn (a traditional dessert, similar to pancakes). In the future, we’d like to delight our customers with innovative packaging solutions."

With the entry into the US market, Greiner Packaging took yet another step from being a European provider towards becoming a global one. The team at Pittston is very well prepared and highly motivated. The site is headed by the experienced Greiner Packaging Manager, Michael Reiser, from Austria.
