Kremsmünster, September 2017. Since May 2016, the German Greiner Packaging site in Rastatt has been on line as a center of competence for the health care industry. The site has been specifically oriented toward this discerning market through personnel, organizational, and technological changes, ensuring that the high demands of the health care customers can be optimally met. The plastics experts will provide evidence for this at CPhl in Frankfurt: Packaging solutions created using extrusion blow molding, multibarrier packaging, and PET bottle solutions – including in combination with the innovative Kavoblow technology – will take center stage at the trade fair. Greiner Packaging offers a wide range of customer-specific solutions in the pharmaceutical, OTC product, cosmoceuticals, nutraceuticals, and VetMed market segments. Moreover, customers can also select from a health care standard product range for infusion bottles and PET bottles. The Rastatt site is ISO 9001 and ISO 50001-certified and has Class 8 clean room space. "We also want to show at the fair how we are able to ensure the purity and consistency of the filled contents using tested technologies," says Stefan Rohr, General Manager of Greiner Packaging in Rastatt.

Eurasia Packaging: Emphasis on cardboard-plastic combinations
In contrast to that, packaging solutions for the food sector will be shown at Eurasia Packaging in Istanbul. In August, Greiner Packaging increased its shares in the Istanbul-based companies Teknik Plastik Greiner Ambalaj from the previous 51 percent to 100 percent. The complete takeover of the Turkish dairy product packaging company continues the plastic experts’ involvement in the Middle East and in Northern Africa. At Eurasia Packaging, Greiner Packaging introduces the Turkish Site for the first time as a 100 percent subsidiary: The joint venture previously operated under the name Greiner Packaging Teknik Plastik, and will be now be known as Greiner Packaging. Since acquiring the majority stake in 2015, Greiner Packaging has been consistently investing in modernizing the site infrastructure and machinery, while significantly expanding the technology and product portfolio as well. The emphasis is now on cardboard plastic packaging, which has been catching people’s attention on store shelves in Europe for decades under the name K3®. This will now be produced in Turkey for the Turkish market for the first time by late 2017 and will also be front and center at the fair. K3® combines high-quality packaging with appealing marketing communication and environmental protection. Its innovative, patented tear-off system makes it easy to separate the cardboard wrap and plastic cap or container in K3® packaging and recycle them. Less plastic in the packaging means reduced CO2 emissions, while retaining the stability of the container through the cardboard wrap. The cardboard surface offers consumers a pleasant feel, and can moreover be attractively printed on and decorated. Marketing messages can be integrated into the design of the wrap on the interior as well as exterior, and punched windows or special embossed printing can likewise be added, depending on customer requirements. Greiner Packaging also delivers individual plastic packaging to the Middle East and North Africa, as well as Greece and Bulgaria, from its site in Turkey.
