Rising prices force companies to act
Expensive raw materials cause Greiner Packaging to adjust prices
The leading European packaging producer Greiner Packaging In ternational is confronted with rising raw material prices and soaring transport and energy costs. To date, the company based in Kremsmünster, Upper Austria, has been able to mitigate the high price increases. “Now, we are being forced to use materials even more efficiently and price adjustments have become inevitable”, says Willi Eibner, CEO of Greiner Packaging International.
Kremsmünster, 26. August 2008 – “The price of polystyrene alone has gone up by 50% within the past four years”, comments Willi Eibner from Greiner Packaging International. Granulate and foils, too, are constantly on the rise. However, the packaging producer is not only confronted with high price increases in plastics, the main component of the products made by Greiner Packaging. In addition, the costs of packaging materials such as outer boxes, bags and pallets are permanently increasing and the prices of high-quality decorations are constantly rising, too.
Fuel prices raise transport costs Greiner Packaging International has been able to mitigate these major price increases over a long period of time by internal improvements in productivity and processes. “Many different factors which we cannot influence, such as fuel prices, toll charges and higher energy- and transport costs spur us into action”, says Willi Eibner. In future, materials will be used even more efficiently and prices adapted.
Packaging deserves superior quality Greiner Packaging International is an innovative European enterprise offering premium-quality solutions for combined packaging. “We use exclusively high-quality raw materials in production”, underlines Eibner. All kinds of packaging – also in the non-food area – deserve superior quality. In future, Greiner Packaging will continue to employ only high-quality materials.
Comprehensive expertise for solutions Greiner Packaging International partners its customers by supplying comprehensive expertise with regard to solutions in development, design, production and decoration. “Uniqueness gives us the cutting edge over competitors”, says Eibner. The company holds the key to its unique advantage, its unique packaging proposition. Customers are accompanied professionally from the initial concept right up to the completed packaging solution.
