The new Extrawurst: spreadable from the stay-fresh cup
Greiner Packaging packs three Inzersdorfer spreads in resealable k2 cups
New generation on the refrigerating shelves: Inzersdorfer offers its three new spread varieties liver pâté, veal liver pâté, and fine sausage [German: Extrawurst = fine-textured sausage mostly made of pork or pork and beef] in stay-fresh cups instead of using artificial sausage skin or tins. Besides the new packaging, the fine sausage spread is an innovation, too. For the first time, the Austrian sausage speciality is available as a spread.
Kremsmünster, November 2007. – Extrawurst is the most popular Austrian sausage specialities. Its flavour is regarded as the “butcher’s business card“.
New contribution to the ’concert’ of spreads: Only recently, Inzersdorfer has launched three new spread flavours on the market, thus re-shaping the popular Extrawurst: In addition to the well-known flavours liver pâté and veal liver pâté, the spread specialist has begun to market an Extrawurst spread, which is a novelty in Austria.
Stay-fresh cups revealing large benefits Another novelty is the packaging. Whereas spreads have been available first and foremost in artificial sausage skins or tins, now, plastic cups are increasingly breaking into this market segment. Inzersdorfer, too, opted for this packaging variant which boasts substantial benefits, primarily with regard to freshness, product safety and convenience. These offer big pluses to the end consumer. Consuming the product has been made easier and greasy fingers are a thing of the past. Technologically sophisticated clip-on lids can be opened easily and allow for tight sealing after multiple opening and closing. They prevent the content from drying out or changing its colour, and relishing the spread by dividing it up in several portions has become plain sailing.
The cup-related details The new stay-fresh cup for Inzersdorfer is made of PP and holds 150 grams of spread. It contains a barrier layer which after filling enables pasteurisation at almost 90 degrees for 30 minutes. In addition to the technical benefits, the visual highlights of the packaging also are a convincing argument in its favour. The packaging is labelled on the side and on the bottom. In combination with the pre-printed lid, the cup conveys a harmonious, high-quality whole.
