When cheese covers ring in new convenience
With product innovations, “Die Käsemacher“ relies on packaging solutions by Greiner Packaging

With sheep’s cheese mèdaillons and goat’s fresh cheese rolls “Die Käsemacher“ has enlarged its product portfolio. These cheese specialities have been available on Austrian shelves as from September 2007. Cheese packages – reclosable cheese covers with a cutting board from Greiner Packaging – unite excellent properties for presentation purposes and for convenience.

Kremsmünster, September 2007. – “Total passion for delicate cheese“ – is the motto of the cheese producer ”Die Käsemacher“ [in English: The Cheesemaker], which is located in the Austrian region Waldviertel. For 16 years, the company has produced variations of fresh cheese and hard cheese, as well as antipasti specialities, at three locations.

Practical combination: Cheese cover & cutting board
Greiner Packaging packs sheep’s cheese mèdaillons and goat’s fresh cheese rolls for “Die Käsemacher“. Dietmar Sulzbacher, Sales Manager for Austria at Greiner Packaging pinpoints the benefits of the new packaging solution: “It manages the balancing act between a tasteful look and simple handling. The cheese products are placed on a green-coloured cutting board made of PS and closed with a transparent PP top in the typical form of a cheese cover.“ As the package is reclosable, the cheese may be relished in several small servings. The green cutting board convinces through its stability and allows for an appetising presentation of the tasty cheese sorts at table.

100 grams of the finest
Both parts of the package are produced using the method of thermoforming. The cutting board displays the “Cheesemaker’s” logotype. The package volume of the sheep’s cheese mèdaillons and the goat’s fresh cheese rolls weighs 100 grams each. The sheep’s cheese mèdaillons are available in different flavours: Pepper, Wild Garlic, and Nature. The goat’s fresh cheese rolls are rolled in chives, pepper or wild herbs.

450 farmers, 100 employees
“Die Käsemacher“ purchases its basic raw material – fresh milk – from about 450 farmers from the region of Waidhofen on the river Thaya. The team comprises around 100 employees who process approximately 30 million litres of milk every year. Besides specialities like sheep’s and goat’s cheese, the company produces cheese from cow’s milk, cheese vegetables, bread spreads and antipasti.
