Blister scores with hygiene
Blister made by Greiner Packaging replaces cardboard packaging for Teich aluminium seals
Until recently, aluminium sealing lids produced by Teich AG were packed in cardboard. The new blister packaging is manufactured by Greiner Packaging. In addition to benefits regarding transport and safety issues, it markedly improves hygiene conditions of packaging for aluminium seals. With their new packaging solution both companies prove that quality assurance can be provided by rigorously observing the BRC/IOP Standard.
Kremsmünster, XX November 2006. – Teich AG produces flexible packaging material – among them aluminium seals – which are used to close dairy and delicatessen products.
From cardboard into blister To date, aluminium seals were wrapped with cardboard packaging to protect them during transport. Now, a blister packaging made by Greiner Packaging replaces the cardboard packaging which brings multi-faceted benefits. Dangers like dust or negative hygienic influences are minimised. The arrangement of the aluminium sealing lids in the blister eliminates bending. Due to the stability of the plastic material, transport damages are a thing of the past. Finally, all improvements have a positive impact on food safety.
Both partners are certified to BRC/IOP It was no coincidence that Teich and Greiner Packaging have become partners. Both Teich AG and four locations within Greiner Packaging (Austria, Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Estonia) are certified according to BRC/IOP. Relevant measures are being taken to ensure successful certification in all other countries, where Greiner Packaging is present. BRC/IOP stands for British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging. The BRC/IOP Standard for quality assurance of packaging material is the most important hygiene standard for the European packaging industry.
Minimising risks – increasing quality Companies certified according to BRC/IOP commit themselves to minimising the risk of damaging the end consumer’s health through chemical, physical or microbiological contamination. To meet the BRC/IOP Standard, Greiner Packaging has implemented numerous measures to increase quality and minimise risks. This includes not only measures to prevent any contamination and management of adequate infrastructure, but also comprehensive hygienic and training measures for personnel.
