Ice cream light in quattro-pack
Norwegian premium ice cream producer relies on packaging know-how from Greiner Packaging
With its product Living lite, Hennig Olsen has successfully introduced a low-cal ice cream onto the Norwegian market this year. The packaging of the refreshing vanilla-blueberry-raspberry composition convinces through the high-quality style of its design and through convenience. The quattro-pack consists of four cups which each hold 125 millilitres. Cups are fitted up with all-over position-oriented sleeves.
Kremsmünster, July 2006. – For the market launch of a new low-cal ice cream product, the Norwegian ice cream producer Hennig Olsen adopted a new line of thinking, which eventually led him to Austria.
Quattro-pack premiere Robert Obermayr, Market-Product Manager for k2 products, reports: "Up to now, multi-packs have been mainly used for yoghurt products. The fact that Hennig Olsen is offering ice cream in a quattro-pack is a first and underscores the versatility of this form of packaging." Greiner Packaging anticipated the multi-pack trend at an early stage and is speedily developing new decorative variations in this area as well. Obermayr adds: "Position-oriented sleeving is a particularly proven method with multi-packs. It perfectly emphasises the product's message on the packaging."
High-quality natural ingredients For Hennig Olsen, packaging co-stars with contents, both being of premium quality. Therefore, the company only uses excellent ingredients for the production of its ice cream. Sweet cream, for instance, comes directly from carefully selected traditional Norwegian dairies. Vanilla is imported from Madagascar. This so-called Bourbon vanilla is a world-beater for quality and is particularly valued for its intensive, harmonious, softly buttery flavour.
Enjoying sweets with a clear conscience The new Living lite ice cream contains 33 percent fewer calories than conventional vanilla ice cream. Thus, those wo are nutrition- and health-conscious can enjoy the flavour of the fruity-sweet ice cream product with a clear conscience. The number of calories contained is printed on every cup, which helps in monitoring calorie intake at any time.
